Sora has shut down. Here’s what to use instead.
There is no Sora to go back to — OpenAI named no replacement. If you used Sora for short cinematic clips, the live options are Google’s Veo 3.1 / Gemini Omni, Kling 3.0, MiniMax H3 (Hailuo) and Seedance. VideoCreate runs Seedance, Kling 3.0 and Wan 2.6 pay-as-you-go; if you need synchronized audio and dialogue like Sora 2 had, go to Veo 3.1 or Kling 3.0 directly for now.

Camera: shot 1 wide, one slow push-in; shot 2 medium close-up, handheld; shot 3 extreme close-up macro, slow motion. Action beats: (1) we approach the stall; (2) an older cook lifts noodles from a steaming pot; (3) chopsticks lift glossy noodles, broth dripping. Look: 35mm film, subtle grain, warm lanterns against cool blue shadows.
OpenAI’s guide: write it like a brief to a cinematographer — visuals, one camera move per shot, actions in beats.

Shot 1 (0–4.5s): wide shot, slow push-in down a rain-soaked alley toward a small ramen stall, red paper lanterns, rain and wet reflections at night. Shot 2 (4.5–6.3s): medium close-up, gentle handheld: an older cook in a navy work jacket lifts noodles from a steaming pot, warm bulb light from the left, cool blue shadows. Shot 3 (6.3–10s): extreme close-up, macro, slow motion: chopsticks lift glossy noodles, broth dripping. Style: cinematic 35mm film look, subtle grain, warm and cool contrast.

- You need dialogue or synchronized sound: use Veo 3.1 or Kling 3.0 directly — our clips are silent for now.
- You need clips longer than 5 seconds or 4K: Veo 3.1 (8 s, 4K) and Kling 3.0 (up to 15 s, 4K) go further.
- You want an API for a product pipeline: Google’s Gemini API and MiniMax’s API are built for that.

Is Sora still available?
No. OpenAI closed the Sora app and web experience on April 26, 2026 and removed the Sora 2 API on September 24, 2026.
What happens to videos I made in Sora?
OpenAI offered an export at sora.chatgpt.com/sunset and says Sora data is permanently deleted after the export window.
Did OpenAI release a replacement?
No replacement was named in OpenAI’s deprecation notice.
Does VideoCreate offer Sora?
